Over the years of its existence, the university has trained more than 70 thousand specialists for the economy as a whole, trade and Catering in particular. Donetsk National University of Economics and Trade named after Mikhail Tugan-Baranovsky is a higher educational institution of the IV level of accreditation.
The university has a center for pre-university training and the "Applicant" center, which provide certain assistance and advice in various areas to future university students in preparation for entrance examinations.

There is also a Faculty of Marketing, Customs and Trade; faculty of restaurant and hotel business; Faculty of Economics and Technology (Sevastopol), an institute that provides postgraduate education; training centers have been established in different cities: Mariupol, Simferopol, Lugansk, Krivoy Rog; also technical schools in the cities: Kramatorsk, Dokuchaevsk, Shakhtersk, Mariupol and, as well as the Donetsk College of Design and New Technologies.

For a successful system of organization and implementation of the educational process, the university has a modern developed material and technical base: 7 academic buildings; consulting center; a network that unites all educational buildings and is connected to the Internet; educational and information institute of innovative technologies; 34 computer labs equipped with latest generation computers. Much attention in the direction of education at the university is given to the study foreign languages. Library Donetsk National University of Economics and Trade named after Mikhail Tugan-Baranovsky considered one of the most large libraries in the economic direction in the Donetsk region. It has more than 670 thousand different publications. The readers themselves are served by several subscriptions, 10 modernized reading rooms with more than 470 seats.
There is a student newspaper at the university - "Herald of Mercury", the founder, which is the Donetsk National University of Economics and Trade named after Mikhail Tugan-Baranovsky. The first newspaper began to appear in February 1999 and was called "DUET". And since 2002, it has continued to exist under the new name "Herald of Mercury". In 2007, the publication was re-registered, since the university was given the status of a national one.
The publication covers all the events taking place in DonNUET, there is a publication of situations and facts about the life of all university students, it is a kind of chronicle.
Now, due to the difficult political situation Donetsk National University of Economics and Trade named after Mikhail Tugan-Baranovsky moves to the Dnepropetrovsk region. Management provides high level training in a new place and providing specifications education and accommodation, which were guaranteed even on the former territory of DonNUET in the Donbass.
Methodical advice Donetsk National University of Economics and Trade named after Mikhail Tugan-Baranovsky is a collective advisory (expert advisory) body of the university, the main task of which is the planning and coordination of educational and methodical work at the university in order to develop and implement a set of measures to ensure the quality of training of specialists in accordance with the requirements of state standards of higher education.
The Methodological Council of DonNUET includes: Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Head of Academic Affairs, Faculty Deans or their deputies, heads of departments, leading university teachers who have extensive experience in educational and methodological work, and a secretary. The Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs is the Chairman of the Methodological Council of the University. The personal composition of the methodological council is approved by the order of the rector of the university annually.
The work plan of the methodological council is drawn up in accordance with the plan for the educational and methodological work of the university, is considered by the council and approved by the chairman of the methodological council. The approved work plan is circulated by the secretary of the council to structural units within 10 days of approval.
The meeting of the methodological council is held in accordance with the work plan and is documented in the minutes. The minutes are signed by the chairman and secretary of the council. All members of the Methodological Council participate in the meetings. Council members have the right to take part in the discussion of issues, contribute to the implementation of council decisions, make proposals to the chairman on improving educational and methodological work at the university, carry out the instructions of the chairman of the council and his deputy in preparing meetings and decisions of the council.
The meeting of the council is considered competent if 2/3 of the total number of its members are present. Any employee of the university, as well as employees of other organizations and institutions invited by the chairman of the council, can take part in the meetings of the council. The decision of the council is submitted to the meeting by one of the members of the council and, after discussion, is adopted on the basis of a vote of the members of the council present. The decision is considered adopted if at least half of the members of the council present voted for it. The agenda of the next meeting is communicated to the members of the council and invited employees of the university no later than five days before the scheduled date of the meeting.
The main tasks of the Methodological Council are:
Discussion of policy letters, guidelines MES, university standards, regulations and other methodological documents and the development of relevant recommendations;
Solving a set of issues related to the content of education in areas of training, specialties and eligible measures for the implementation of the content of education and its continuous improvement;
Organization and control of the activities of the departments from the main directions of the methodological work of the university and the development of proposals to improve the quality of training of future specialists;
Consideration of educational (working) plans and coordination of variable parts of state standards of higher education in the areas of training;
Approval (review) of study and work programs of academic disciplines read to university students;
Accumulation, generalization and dissemination of positive experience in organizing the methodological work of faculties, departments of the university and other domestic and foreign higher educational institutions;
Analysis and approval of plans for publishing educational, educational and methodological literature of the university and the formation of proposals for their adjustment;
Consideration of issues on the instructions of the administration on the organizational and methodological level educational process and the quality of its methodological support at specific departments, faculties and the formulation of conclusions about their compliance with the established requirements;
Report to the Academic Council of the University on the results of the methodological activities of the university.
