Beaches within the city and resorts near Naples:

3. Marina di Licola- not the best beach in the vicinity of Naples due to dirty water. But it has its advantages - strong waves, which means great surfing opportunities. In addition, this is the only place in the Naples area where you can see the open sea.
4. Sorrento- There are many good swimming spots in the area, such as Meta, Sant'Agnello, Piano di Sorrento. Coming down from railway, in 15 minutes you will find yourself on a pebble beach with clear water. You won’t be able to see such beauty in Sorrento itself, since concrete slabs are installed above the sea, from which they go down the stairs into the water.

Let's start with the fact that in Campania you have to pay for the beach, there are practically no so-called "wild" beaches here, and if there are, then their quality is so bad that you forget to even think about it. In the summer season, the entrance to the beach for 1 person costs from 10 to 20 euros, depending on the prestige of the place and the day of the week (more expensive on weekends).
Posillipo
The Posillipo zone is located within the city, so many do not recommend swimming here, but there are no prohibition signs, so if you want to take a dip and don’t have time to travel far, come here. The most famous beach is Bagno Elena, which has a wooden platform, sun loungers, changing rooms and bars. It should be borne in mind that at 16-17 hours the sun leaves the beach.
Lucrino
Half an hour from Naples, in the area of Bagnoli Pozzuoli, is the very pleasant beach of Lucrino. The sea here is already much cleaner, the beach is wider and bigger. Lucrino is usually less crowded and much more peaceful despite being right next to the train station.
Marina di Licola
This is the only beach that I cannot recommend for swimming, the fact is that Licola belongs to a zone not recommended for swimming, or, in other words, a zone with dirty water. However, this does not stop anyone. In addition, I will add that on Likol the sea is very shallow and you need to walk a decent distance through the water to where the depth begins, at least up to the neck. But this is the only place where you can see the open sea, and there are often strong waves.
Sorrento
There are several good places to swim near Sorrento, such as Piano di Sorrento, Meta, Sant'Agnello. After walking for a quarter of an hour from the railway down, you will find yourself in beautiful panoramic places with a pebble beach and clear blue water. There is no beach as such in Sorrento itself: concrete platforms are built above the sea, from which you need to descend into the water by stairs.

Every year, Naples is visited by a huge number of tourists who are attracted not only by all kinds of sights, the opportunity to go shopping, but also to combine all this with a beach holiday. Local beaches cannot be called the best in Italy, but you should not criticize too much, they are quite suitable for relaxing and swimming. The beaches have a good infrastructure, equipped with showers, umbrellas, sun loungers, and a variety of water activities. The local climate is considered one of the best on the entire Italian coast. Despite the lack of amenities, such beaches are almost always crowded, but it is unlikely that you will be able to relax comfortably there.
Neapolitan beaches attract not only lovers of beach holidays, but also active entertainment. Here you can often meet surfers who hope to catch a good wave, as well as divers. Diving is very common here special centers where you can take training and dive. The beach of Marina di Licola in terms of beach holidays is not the best place because of the dirty water. Most often, surfers come to this place, due to the fact that there are often high waves here.
For beauty and crystal clear water, you need to go to Sorrento Beach. The beach is not only beautiful, but also well-maintained, there are always a lot of tourists here.
But the best beach holiday offers the Amalfi Coast. Tourists are even stopped by the fact that you need to drive 90 kilometers from Naples to this coast. For beach lovers, this is a real beach paradise, which stretches for 50 kilometers.
There are other beaches in Naples and its environs, and if you are planning a trip for a week or more, then it will be easier for you to find your way around, especially since before the start beach season at least another six months.
