The Stiftung Warentest Foundation tested 24 types of olive oil. For this, 24 bottles were bought anonymously. These include oils from Aldi, Lidl and other discounters, as well as classic Italian products such as Bertolli or Carapelli.

What turned out? Unfortunately, only a few types of oils can be recommended. So, 10 out of 24 products turned out to be of very low quality (final rating "mangelhaft"). However, good olive oil can still be found. All three test winners were from discount stores and, accordingly, are quite inexpensive - from 5 to 6 euros per liter. No pesticides were found. There is also a positive test result: neither pesticides nor harmful polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) were found in any of the tested oils. Mixes from different countries. The latest test revealed that all 24 products are mixtures of olive oils from different countries.
