In winter, the body needs fluid not only to provide moisture - the right drinks can also strengthen the immune system and prevent a cold from even a single chance. Therefore, let's look at 10 different warming drinks that will not only cheer you up, but also improve your well-being.

Non-alcoholic warming drinks

Sbiten

You will need: 150 g of honey, 100 g of sugar, 2 g of cinnamon, several dried mint leaves, 4-5 black peppercorns, 4-5 dried clove flowers and two teaspoons of ground ginger.

Cooking method:

  1. Add honey to a glass of water, heat to a boil. Boil for about three minutes, periodically removing the foam.
  2. Pour another glass of hot water, add sugar. Stir thoroughly, let the sugar dissolve. Then add the liquid to the mixture from step 1.
  3. Pour about 2 liters of water into a saucepan and add all the spices (cinnamon, mint, etc.) to the water. Bring to a boil, then carefully strain the broth.
  4. Combine sugar-honey mixture and broth with spices. Stir thoroughly, leave to brew until cool.

In addition to being an excellent warming drink, sbiten stimulates metabolism and is also used as an anti-inflammatory and antiviral agent.

Chamomile tea

Chamomile tea in itself relieves inflammation well, and in combination with linden and honey, it will be an indispensable tool in the fight against colds.

Cooking method: in a glass of boiled water, add one teaspoon of dried chamomile and linden flowers. Add a few teaspoons of honey if desired. Stir, wait about 20 minutes. It is best to divide one glass into a day: drink a third of the glass before meals three times a day.

Mulled wine

It's not just an unusual, pleasant-tasting drink, mulled wine is also great for relieving cold and flu symptoms.

You will need: one and a half liters of grape juice, one orange, 5 cloves, about a quarter of a teaspoon of nutmeg, 1/2 teaspoon of ground cinnamon, 1 teaspoon of ground ginger, 2-4 tablespoons of sugar.

Cooking method: mix all the spices with each other, pour 100 ml of water and boil. After that, let the broth brew for about 10 minutes and strain. Cut the orange into slices. Stir in the grape juice, orange slices and spiced tea, then bring the mixture to a boil. Optionally, you can add apples, honey or raisins. Serve the drink hot.

Hot chocolate

This is a great dessert, it supports and stimulates the brain, speeds up metabolism and improves mood. In addition, the drink is quite satisfying.

For cooking you will need: 250 ml of milk, 2 tablespoons of water, approximately 100 g of dark chocolate.

Cooking method: Melt chocolate in water until smooth, stirring occasionally. Then, in a separate container, heat the milk to a boil and carefully pour it with the chocolate mixture. Boil the drink for several minutes, mixing thoroughly. You can add sugar, cinnamon or vanilla at this stage. Beat the resulting mass well and pour into mugs.

Sbiten is a drink served hot without fail, the recipe of which was invented many centuries ago in Russia. It consists of the following ingredients: honey, all kinds of spices, water and medicinal herbal preparations. Warming appeared in ancient Russia earlier than the well-known tea. References to Sbiten were found in Slavic chronicles dated 1128. This drink was made in a samovar. It is believed that sbiten got its name from the word "shoot down". During its preparation, herbs and honey were infused separately, and both drinks were thoroughly mixed before drinking.

As such, there was no single recipe for making this strong drink. Each inhabitant of ancient Russia prepared it according to his own special technology. The only thing that has always remained unchanged is the high temperature of the drink, its burning spice, medicinal properties and the sweet taste of honey. Most often, sbiten was drunk in cold, dank weather, as well as in case of illness and depressive mood. Currently, you can prepare this ancient Russian drink for yourself.
