Strawberries are not just a tasty berry, from which a lot of dishes are prepared. She is very demanding on proper fit and care. Little tricks can make the work of a gardener easier. In order for dreams of a high and high-quality harvest to come true, it is necessary to take into account the following factors:
· Choose a sunny place for a bed with strawberries, then the aroma and sweetness of the berries are guaranteed to you.
· You can plant strawberries both in spring and autumn, and even in summer, the main thing is to do it right.
Proper watering is necessary to prevent strawberries from getting sick.
Planting any plant is the main step to a high yield. Before planting, it is better to add humus or compost, 30 - 40 grams of superphosphate and wood ash, a half-liter jar per square meter. The quality of planting material is of great importance. Seedlings will take root better if the bush has three well-developed leaves and a developed apical bud. A very easy-to-care method of planting is single-line: between plants 20 centimeters and 70 centimeters between rows.
A convenient way of planting for watering and picking berries "on the hillocks". We rake a tubercle with a chopper, make a hole on top and plant seedlings. Do not bury the seedlings, the growing point should be at ground level. After planting, the bed must be watered. In a day or two, water the garden bed, preventing the soil from drying out. Watering, of course, depends on the weather, but until the plant takes root, watering is necessary. Four weeks after planting, you need to loosen the soil, remove weeds. I cover my strawberries with black agrospan. It protects plants from weeds and pests, provides better soil heating, retains moisture. This is the first and best assistant in making work easier.
Strawberries are very picky about watering. In no case should you water the plant from above. Better with a small trickle of water under the root, so that the soil is well saturated. Watering is especially necessary during the flowering period, as well as after fruiting during the laying of the future crop. If the summer turned out to be hot, then during the ripening of the fruits, watering is also necessary. And if strawberries grow on an agrospan, then the berries will be clean even after watering, and moisture will linger under it for a long time. If you want to get a good and early harvest, remove strawberry whiskers during fruiting, they delay the ripening of berries. Agrospan does not allow the mustache to grow and is quite easy to remove.
If you take into account these tips when planting strawberries, you are guaranteed a good strawberry harvest for four years.
